Laugh Pact: Personal Update
Dear Laugh Pact Friends,
This message is a day early because I have a moment right now… I have a very personal update to share with you… I don’t think I’ll be able to maintain my regular video schedule for a little bit. My dad was diagnosed with Covid-19. He’s in the hospital ICU now. His health is declining.
I recorded this Coherent Breathing video when my dad was stable… and I’m happy to share it with you.
I won’t have a video to share on Friday… maybe next week. I’ll try. This is definitely a test for my laughter practice… I don’t know if I can bear a Laughter Yoga session right now… I have continued pranayama. I also find playing and writing music helpful right now. It feels right. My dad has always supported and enjoyed my music.
Thank you so much for your support. Sending lots of love to you and yours.
Please take care and laugh on,
Kara

Laugh Pact: Connect with Your Breath
👋 Hello Laugh Pact Pack!
I’ve been focused on breathing lately and it’s wonderful. I just finished reading a book that I highly recommend: Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art by James Nestor. It’s an easy read, compelling story, science class, history lesson, and it has an appendix that fully explains all of the exercises explored in the book. If you’re like me, you’ll find yourself flipping to the appendix to learn the exercises as you learn their history and why they’re valuable to do.
Meanwhile, I’ve been working with Laughter Yoga Master Trainer Duncan Cook on a new video series: Laughter Yoga Pranayama. We started with Kapalabhati last week and just released Anulom Vilom this week. As Duncan taught me, the two exercises go very well together. I’ve been doing them every morning. Please give them a try!
One more thing I’m excited to share… tomorrow… Friday, November 20th, a new Laughter Yoga song will be released! It’s called “Holiday Time: 4 Elements of Joy” and I’m super-excited for you to hear it! If you subscribe on YouTube and to click the notification bell 🔔, you’ll be notified when “Holiday Time” and other videos are released.
And now…without further ado… some Laughter Yoga news!
Take care & LAUGH ON!
😄 Kara

Anulom Vilom: Laughter Yoga Pranayama Session
Hello Laughter Friends! I’m very happy to share the second video in a new series that explores the deep breathing aspect of Laughter Yoga. Anulom Vilom is also called alternate nostril breathing (and alternate cross breathing). According to Laughter Yoga Founder, Dr. Madan Kataria, it is considered one of the best pranayama exercises because it brings physiological balance to your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.
You can practice Anulom Vilom in the morning to start your day balanced, anytime you need to reduce stress and anxiety, and in the evening to relax. Many people, including me, experience a calming effect from Anulom Vilom.
I’m incredibly grateful to Duncan Cook of Laughter Yoga Ontario for inspiring, guiding, and sponsoring this video. Duncan Cook is a Certified Master Trainer of Laughter Yoga and offers training/certification workshops with Carlos Gongora. Thank you, Duncan!
A NEW Laughter Yoga SONG will be released this Friday, November 20th!! I’m super-excited for you to see the lyric video. Until then… have a wonderful day, breathe deeply & LAUGH ON!
Kapalabhati: Laughter Yoga Pranayama Session
👋 Hello Laughter Friends! I’m very happy to share the first video in a new series that explores the deep breathing aspect of Laughter Yoga. Kapalbhati is a cleansing and energizing pranayama exercise. It improves digestion, helps remove excess belly fat, and cleans and strengthens the lungs. This video utilizes the methods learned from Dr. Madan Kataria, as well as the Department of Yoga Institute of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences Bangalore.
A huge round of Gratitude Laughter goes out to Duncan Cook of Laughter Yoga Ontario for inspiring, guiding, and sponsoring this video. Duncan Cook is a Certified Master Trainer of Laughter Yoga and offers training/certification workshops with Carlos Gongora. Thank you, Duncan!
Our next collaboration for this series is Anulom Vilom and it is coming soon… I hope you enjoy this deep breathing practice. Have a wonderful day, breath deeply, and laugh on! 😄💗🙏
